YORK FESTIVAL OF WRITING HANGOVER

Obviously not literally, of course. Though judging from the noise that kept me awake far into the wee small hours on Sunday morning, some people may have a literal one, too. Serves them right.

No, I've just popped in here to say:
  1. Really enjoyed myself. Great to meet and see so many hard-working writers and appreciative audiences.
  2. I said I would put the skeleton notes from my talks up here as a downloadable document soon. I will, but...
  3. ...I am now immersed in the final proofs of Write to be Published, which arrived unexpectedly promptly from Snowbooks, and I need to get them off my desk by tomorrow, and since I'm going away again on Thursday, "soon" might have to be next week.
  4. And I have an interview with Aline Templeton coming up here on Wednesday, about creating a crime series.
For those at the festival who were confused about all my various hats and resources:
  1. The blog - you're on it!
  2. The Crabbit Old Bat - you're listening to her. But it's all a con; I really am moderately nice. Usually.
  3. The book - Write to be Published is, loosely, the book of this blog, and is published on June 1st by Snowbooks. Details are here: www.writetobepublished.co.uk
  4. The consultancy - Pen2Publication is where I do things like manuscript appraisals and give individual advice. Details are here: www.pen2publication.co.uk
  5. The events - I do a range of events around the country but also organise my own extended, small group workshops in Edinburgh. The next one is The Secrets of Writing for Children and Teenagers and is on June 9th. Details are on the events page of the Write to be Published website. Places are filling fast. Keep your eye out for events coming to a place near you. Cambridge on April 16th?
  6. The other books - my normal author site (is there such a thing as a normal author?) is here: www.nicolamorgan.co.uk
That's it. Back to the proofs. Write well.

Nicola, was great to meet you. Very impressed with your dedication to helping others learn the craft. And thank you for your feedback - excellent book doctoring!

Great event and workshop. I'm still adjusting to getting back to the different speed of real (but multiple naps are helping).

Sigh...one of these days I will, I will, I will go to something like this. Those who did go were enthusiastic - especially about a certain non-COB! :-)

EmmaH - great to meet you, too. You were a pleasure to treat!

Ian - many thanks, and for your email. Multiple naps? Spoken like a true author.

Cat - everyone was very nice. Thing is, when you have an appreciative audience it improves the whole thing, so everyone wins.
