As many of you know, I started a new blog, Heartsong, embedded in my main website a while ago and had decided only to blog there. It gives me a chance to talk about non-writing-related things, such as my writing and speaking about the teenage brain and teenage stress (which I'm writing a book about now) and it allowed me to have all my various strands of work on one website. I love it and it's been great to see many of you there. I like the relaxed nature and the knowledge that I can talk about whatever comes into my head, whenever I like, rather than the rigid three times a week I'd imposed on myself. I also do some writing and publishing advice over there, mixed in with the rest.
But it's not enough. Nothing is ever enough!
So, I have two plans:
1. Every time I have a writing or publishing-related thing to blog about, I'll put it in both places, sometimes in a slightly different form. So, if you only want writing and publishing stuff, stay here, but if you're interesting in other things, such as stuff that happen to me, or my adolescence work, or jealousy-making pictures of my shed, hang out with me there, too. I won't blog here a set number of times and a week might go by without a writing-related post.
2. I'm reinstating the Dear Crabbit slot. You ask me questions (by email - see contact page above.) I try to answer them on the blog. Like an agony aunt, but for writers. I would answer them anonymously (unless for a specific reason we agreed that your name/link should appear.) So it could be a general question or one very specific to your situation. But note that I can't answer anything that would reveal the identity of an individual or company. I can't promise to answer them all but I will do my best.
This way, I will be writing about the things YOU want to know about.
Please note that I can't give free advice privately, unless you go through Pen2Publication, and I take on very very few clients through that.
It's good to be back! I've been busy while I've been away, even with some writing (you know, like, actual writing, honestly). And I now have a shop on my main website! Tea-towels for writers and parents, hessian bags for anyone, and signed books for all.)
Anyway, please ask me your questions, big or small, and I'll see what I can do.

Yay! Much as I love your new blog (and have it on my blog feed!), there has been a crabbit-bat-shaped hole in my life! Welcome back :)
Hooray! And now you have the bat and the boots back. Put on your cape!
Hooray... you're back! Not that you really went away, but I do enjoy the Crabbit side of your personality!
Good to see you back here, Nicola.
